9am: Run up through the rabbit warren maze into Wonderland Towers which is situated on the top floor of our building. If I’m first in I’ll open the doors, switch on the lights and start to make tea for the office. However if I’m not the first in the office, I’ll often be welcomed with a lovely warm cup of tea on my desk, ready and waiting to help bring me to life.
9:15am: First things first, I’ll catch up on my emails and check all social media channels that we run for clients, whilst having a little chat with the WonderGirls on the trials and tribulations of the weekend/day/evening before.
I’ll consult my calendar and my to-do-list (which is always written on a notepad, in my eyes not everything belongs in a digital world) and work out what tasks I need to prioritise on the day – who needs chasing, what I need to get done, and when I need to do it by. I’ll then check all of the content and social media plans I work on for clients, and plan out my day.
10am: We often have weekly conference calls with clients to catch up on projects we’re running and how we’re getting on with various tasks. This however often leads off into tangents about hair, shoes, lunches, weekends, nails…. But anyway, back to work.
11:30am: I’ll be checking social media accounts all day – it may look like I’m just on Instagram, but I’m instagramming for a client! Honest! I’ll work from a monthly plan that we create for our clients, so part of my day will always be posting updates on social media and blogging. If it’s a Friday I’ll be scheduling in posts for the weekend using my weapon of choice, Hootsuite.
1pm: Time for lunch! I’ll sometimes wander off to the shop or eat a soup/salad if I’ve been productive and made one the night before. My lunch will be consumed whilst I browse through Pinterest and plan what to bake at the weekend, get inspiration for design projects, places I want to visit, or photos I want to take.
2pm: Often the afternoon is a mishmash of emails, phone calls, liaising with the Wonderland designers on multiple different design jobs, proof reading, checking artwork, planning, chatting with our development team at Fish Media, writing blogs, uploading social media and blog posts, collating reports, brainstorming and ticking things off (but also adding things) to my to-do-list. Often I’ll have a quick-fire request thrown in there or an impromptu meeting; there is always something interesting happening and that’s what I love about my job.
4pm: Random outbursts in Wonderland Towers such as: Let’s take a photo for Facebook, have you seen this, I’ve eaten too many oranges, let’s do some office stretches, let’s have some cake, let’s go outside, etc. etc. etc.
5.30pm: Home time! This is where I trot off to my little car, contemplating whether to go to the gym or whether it’s best if I just go home and veg on the sofa…
