At The Wonderland we like our numbers and stats, so last November we helped conduct a piece of market research for our lovely client Lily O’Brien’s… and uncovered some very interesting facts!
It turns out that people in the UK and Ireland are actually becoming better neighbours due to the increase of online shopping (yes yet again WonderGirls and shopping…there seems to be a theme here). Anyway so why are we more neighbourly?
Well, as more and more parcels are being delivered to our doors, neighbours are taking in each other’s deliveries. This in turn triggers, dare we say it…being more social in the traditional sense, we have to speak! We think it’s a great development, especially for older neighbours that may not get to speak to people every day. We created a summary of the research results, which you can see in the infographic below. However next time you collect your eBay parcel from Mrs Smith across the road, remember to say thank you and ask them about their day, you may make a new friend (then they might also mow your lawn!) For the full story, visit the Lily O’Brien’s blog.
In addition to this lovely bit of research, we created the #UltimateNeighbour campaign with Toast PR and Lily O’Brien’s. During the campaign, Lily O’Brien’s Twitter followers could nominate their neighbours to win a chocolate party box. We had some great tweets that helped back up our research of how lovely some streets in the UK and Ireland really are!
