Part 1: Being handed the Torch!
Around a month ago, my copy writing buddy Louise decided to collaborate and enter The Torch Awards Competition. This year The Torch Awards challenged young creatives aged 25 and under to plan…and eventually create (if you win) a 60 second video to persuade the viewer to donate to The Project Solution.
The Project Solution works with like-minded non-profit organisations around the world to fund critical infrastructure projects.
Our answer to the brief was to create something different to the usual non-profit advertising. It uses humour and tells a story with a twist, featuring a character that everyone can relate to.
So we pressed send and didn’t think any more of it for 4 weeks…and to our surprise we have been shortlisted!!! We will be competing against 4 teams from the Philippines, Vietnam, Canada and Japan. Our challenge now is to go to New York next week, to pitch our idea to top creatives and the founders of The Project Solution.
