Ads and Politics – a Match Made at Iceland

November 15, 2018 by thewonderland Leave a Comment

Iceland’s new ad got banned by the ASA when it was launched, as it was deemed to be too political. True, there is a partnership of sorts with Greenpeace there and its message about palm oil is crystal clear. True, perhaps Iceland went a little too far using Greenpeace’s material. Then again, that might have been the objective from the start. To date the ad has been watched more than 50 million … [Read more...]

In light of this, I’ve taken a quick look at the marketing in 2016 that made me laugh, cringe, and squirm in my little Wonder-boots. THE GOOD Spotity – Thanks 2016, it’s been weird My personal favourite of great … [Read more...]

The Art of Swearing

January 13, 2017 by thewonderland Leave a Comment

The Art of Swearing Warning: This article contains very strong language that may offend some readers. We started a debate in the office regarding swearing in music, it then snowballed into what words we felt were acceptable and when. Is it ok for a 10 year old to sing in the shower a line from CeeLo Greens “F*ck you?” “I see you driving around town with the girl I love And I'm like, … [Read more...]
